Crew

Crew is the address book for the people who sail with you. Names, roles, contacts, certifications — and a clear record of who was aboard for each voyage.

What it does

  • Stores each crew member with name, role (skipper, first mate, watch leader, guest), contact details, and any certificates (RYA, ICC, STCW).
  • Lets you mark who was aboard for a given voyage, so the voyage report carries an accurate crew list.
  • Tracks emergency contacts and next of kin for safety-critical situations.
  • Holds a private note per person — strengths, preferences, allergies — so the next skipper knows what you knew.
  • Powers the crew list block in voyage reports, ready to hand to a marina, the coastguard or the insurer.

How to use it

  1. Open Crew from the sidebar.
  2. Tap New crew member.
  3. Enter the name and the role they usually fill.
  4. Optionally add a phone number, an email, a date of birth, and any certificates.
  5. Save. The person is now available to add to any voyage.
  6. To mark them as aboard a voyage: open the voyage, tap Crew, and add them from the list.

Frequently asked

Will my crew see this?

No. The crew address book lives on your account only — it is your private working record. Inviting crew to actively use Naucodex on a voyage is a separate feature that is coming.

Can I add someone who only sails with me once?

Yes. Add them as a guest, attach them to the voyage, and they stay in your address book in case they ever come back.
