Crew
Crew is the address book for the people who sail with you. Names, roles, contacts, certifications — and a clear record of who was aboard for each voyage.
What it does
- Stores each crew member with name, role (skipper, first mate, watch leader, guest), contact details, and any certificates (RYA, ICC, STCW).
- Lets you mark who was aboard for a given voyage, so the voyage report carries an accurate crew list.
- Tracks emergency contacts and next of kin for safety-critical situations.
- Holds a private note per person — strengths, preferences, allergies — so the next skipper knows what you knew.
- Powers the crew list block in voyage reports, ready to hand to a marina, the coastguard or the insurer.
How to use it
- Open Crew from the sidebar.
- Tap New crew member.
- Enter the name and the role they usually fill.
- Optionally add a phone number, an email, a date of birth, and any certificates.
- Save. The person is now available to add to any voyage.
- To mark them as aboard a voyage: open the voyage, tap Crew, and add them from the list.
Frequently asked
Will my crew see this?
No. The crew address book lives on your account only — it is your private working record. Inviting crew to actively use Naucodex on a voyage is a separate feature that is coming.
Can I add someone who only sails with me once?
Yes. Add them as a guest, attach them to the voyage, and they stay in your address book in case they ever come back.
