Maintenance
A boat is a slow conversation between the captain and the mechanic. Naucodex keeps a record of every service, repair and inspection — what was done, when, by whom, and what is due next.
What it does
- Tracks completed maintenance items: engine service, anti-fouling, rigging check, electronics, sails.
- Lets you set recurring intervals — every twelve months, every two hundred engine hours, every season — and warns you before the next is due.
- Stores notes from the technician, photos of the work, and the invoice if you have it.
- Shows a per-boat health view: what is current, what is approaching due, what is overdue.
- Feeds the boat's PDF report so a future owner or charterer can see the full service history.
How to use it
- Open Maintenance from the sidebar.
- Tap New record.
- Pick the boat and the type of work (engine service, anti-foul, …).
- Enter the date and, if relevant, the engine hours at the time.
- Optionally set a recurrence: every N months or every N engine hours.
- Write a short note and attach photos or the invoice.
- Save. The boat's health view updates and the next-due date appears in your alerts (see Alerts & Reminders).
Frequently asked
Where do engine hours come from?
You type them in. Naucodex does not read the engine directly — it stores the number you give it at each service, and uses it to forecast the next interval.
Can I see the full history of a boat?
Yes. Open the boat from Boats and scroll to Maintenance. The full timeline is there, with photos and notes.
