Profile & Settings
Profile & Settings is where you tell Naucodex about yourself — your name, your photo, your home port, the units you prefer — and where you manage your account across the devices you use.
What it does
- Stores your captain profile: first and last name, email, avatar, home port, certifications.
- Lets you pick your preferred units — nautical miles or kilometres, knots or km/h, litres or gallons, Celsius or Fahrenheit.
- Manages the email address on your account and lets you change your password.
- Shows the devices currently signed in to your account.
- Gives you a clean Sign out everywhere button for when you lose a device or hand the laptop on.
How to use it
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Choose Settings.
- Update any field — changes save as you type or after you tap Save (depends on the field).
- To change units, scroll to Preferences and pick the units you want. Everything in the app re-renders straight away.
- To change your password, open the Security section, enter the current password, then the new one twice.
- To sign out of this device only, click your avatar and pick Sign out. To sign out of every device, use Sign out everywhere in Security.
Frequently asked
Will changing units convert old data?
No — the underlying values are stored in a single canonical unit and the display switches with your preference. Your numbers don't change; only the label and the formatting do.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Security → Delete account. The action is permanent: every voyage, log entry, expense and document is removed within 30 days. We recommend exporting a PDF report of any boat you want to keep records of before you delete.
