Alerts & Reminders
Alerts are the quiet voice of Naucodex. They surface what is coming up — a maintenance interval, an insurance renewal, a voyage you have planned for tomorrow — so nothing slips through the cracks.
What it does
- Warns you before a maintenance interval is due, based on dates or engine hours you have logged.
- Reminds you when documents are about to expire — insurance, registration, safety equipment certificates.
- Surfaces upcoming voyages on the dashboard, with a soft nudge the day before.
- Groups alerts by urgency: due now, due soon, just keep an eye on it.
- Lets you dismiss or snooze each alert without losing the underlying record.
How to use it
- Alerts are on by default — there is nothing to enable for the basic flow.
- When you create a maintenance record (see Maintenance) and set a recurrence, the next-due date appears in your Alerts list automatically.
- When you upload a document with an expiry date (insurance, registration), it appears in Alerts as the date approaches.
- Open Alerts from the sidebar to see everything in one place. Tap an alert to open the record it points to.
- To dismiss: swipe (mobile) or tap the dismiss icon (desktop). To snooze, tap Snooze and pick a date.
Frequently asked
Will I get push notifications or emails?
Not yet — alerts currently surface inside the app. Email and push notifications are on the roadmap; we want to make them quiet by default so they don't become noise.
Why is an alert showing for something I already did?
If you completed the work outside Naucodex, add the maintenance record (or update the document expiry) and the alert clears automatically.
